Microneedling is one of the biggest beauty 'trends' right now and while we don't usually jump on board with the newest and latest beauty industry obsession, we can safely say microneedling is rooted in ancient traditions and we are SO excited to be offering this incredible service!

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, is a process (usually lasting about 15 minutes) that involves using a device to puncture tiny holes in the epidermis to stimulate the body's natural ability to produce collagen, elastin, heal acne scars, improve fine lines and texture, etc. It increases cell turnover (which slows down as we age), and allows for better absorption of skincare products. Microneedling is minimally invasive with little to no downtime. It is a safe and effective beauty treatment for people who want to treat the skin on a deep level. While some places offer microneedling as a quick service just to jump on the microneedling band wagon, at Sacred Synergy we have chosen to train in-depth with TOMA Essential Skin Therapy and offer an advanced microneedling experience that utilizes the cleanest, high-grade skincare available along with a commercial LED light AND acupuncture session to further deepen results. This is not your average microneedling session and we cannot wait to help you on this journey to a more radiant and confident you!

A microneedling session at Sacred Synergy looks different. For starters, this is not a 15 minute in and out session. This is a time and space for you to let go and let somebody take care of you. We start our microneedling session by prepping the skin with a 5% lidocaine ointment to ensure you are comfortable during your microneedling session. After a few minutes, we remove the lidocaine and begin applying a high molecular hyaluronic acid to use as lubricant for the microneedling device. We use a commercial grade, FDA cleared medical microneedling pen to ensure your comfort and safety. The microneedling itself takes approximately 20 minutes. We then apply a cooling mask to relieve any discomfort. After removing the cucumber mask, we apply TOMA Collagen Boosting Serum and Phyto Stem Cells and then you get to relax under a commercial grade LED light that uses targeted near infrared therapy to treat your specific skincare concerns. At this time, we also place acupuncture needles to further deepen your treatment and ensure a full body, targeted approach to your skincare goals. After relaxing for 20 minutes, we apply a serum and eye cream and then allow you to slowly drift back to reality, fully pampered and refreshed.

Things to Know

Below you will find specific information for Microneedling as well as information about the products we use!

Microneedling is NOT for you if:

Unfortunately, there are certain times when we cannot microneedle. If you are pregnant, are a cancer patient in active treatment or have had radiation in the past year, have used Accutane within the last 3 months, have discoid lupus or have any current skin flare ups like Shingles or cold sores, you should skip this treatment for now. Check back for microneedling when those circumstances change.

Pre and Post Treatment Nessacities

BEFORE treatment: You MUST avoid any targeted and active skincare such as vitamin c, retinol, topical antibiotics, acids, enzymes and exfoliants for 5 days. You should avoid direct sunlight for 48 hours before treatment.

AFTER treatment: No targeted skincare for 3 days post treatment including retinols, acids, etc. No makeup for at least 24 hours. No sweating for 48 hours so avoid intense exercise, saunas, steam rooms, etc. No swimming for at least 3 days. Avoid anti-inflammatory medicines, if possible. Stay out of the sun. Wear a hat the first day and you can continue sunscreen use 24 hours after treatment.
